Matthes Maschinen-Industrietechnik GmbHUltrasonic assembly cleaning

The cleaning effect of ultrasonic cleaning is based on cavitation: an ultrasonic generator and a tuned vibration system excite the cleaning bath fluid. The resulting vibrations create tiny cavities in the liquid that collapse immediately. This generates strong currents and turbulence that effectively “blast away” contaminants from the surfaces being cleaned. FinnSonic ultrasonic cleaning systems are used in various cleaning processes. Cleaning printed circuit boards, wafers, solder frames, and machine parts by immersion is an extremely powerful yet gentle method. The agitation necessary for thorough cleaning is achieved through the use of ultrasound and/or pressure flooding. Especially for complex assemblies with difficult geometries, small standoffs, or large volumes, EVO SONIC ultrasonic systems demonstrate their advantages by optimally integrating process steps such as washing, rinsing, and drying.

For smaller cleaning tasks, MATTHES offers benchtop models designed for limited quantities of smaller parts. Typical applications include healthcare, veterinary instrument care, and laboratories. Depending on the model, the ultrasonic cleaning system’s tank volume ranges from 1.9 to 20.6 liters.

In the field of industrial parts cleaning, FinnSonic is known for its compact ultrasonic tanks. This product line simplifies the handling, cleaning, and maintenance of parts. FinnSonic ultrasonic tanks are made from wear-resistant stainless steel for demanding environments. For standard maintenance needs, ultrasonic cleaning alone is sufficient. If required, you can configure a modular multi-stage washing system. With various options available, cleaning can be made even faster and more cost-effective. Efficient use of ultrasound ensures excellent cleaning results. The ultrasonic transducers are mounted either on the bottom or the sides of the cleaning tank. Depending on the model, the tank volume ranges from 40 to 160 liters.

Matthes Maschinen-Industrietechnik GmbHImmersion cleaning

Immersion cleaning processes are preferred when parts with complex geometries—such as blind holes and/or undercuts—need to be cleaned. When the workpiece is immersed in the cleaning bath, adhering contaminants are dissolved by the chemical action of the cleaning medium. Rotating or swiveling the parts in the bath and/or the use of ultrasonic agitation enhances the cleaning effectiveness.
